Advice for an Inconsistent Golf Swing
Inconsistency in golf can be caused by several different things, but the two most common contributors to inconsistency in golf is fitness and getting the basics wrong. We're going to concentrate on the getting the golf swing basics right in this post, but that doesn't mean that you should ignore your golf fitness. An increase on flexibility, getting the right golf muscles stronger and working for you, being fit enough to last a full round of golf both physically and mentally is very important to your overall ability and enjoyment of golf, it works wonders when you're trying to improve your golf swing.
So, onto the golf swing and why it's inconsistent. There are lots of reasons for inconsistency in your golf swing, but one of the biggest reasons, and one that's seldom talked about, is that your mind and body get a bit confused at times. For instance, if you suffer from a golf slice, which most of us have at some point, then you'll no doubt have tried compensating for this wayward shot by lining up and aiming your shot down the other side of the fairway. For right-handers, that means aiming down the left side of the fairway and allowing for the slice to pull the shot back into the center. I'll bet it didn't work, your shot probably still curved well off to the right.
The problem is that your brain subconsciously compensates for you all the time, and during the golf swing it will have realigned you for your normal shot. the other problem between our minds and our bodies is that we are seldom doing what we think we are. This is not as unexpected as you might think because we don't actually see ourselves executing the golf swing, it's all in our imagination. We just trust that what we are intending to do is actually happening.
Now, having said all that, the number one biggest reason for an inconsistent golf swing is not getting the basics right. Whether that's because you never learned the basic golf swing in the first place, have forgotten the basic golf swing, or are just stubbornly using the swing that you think is right even when your results tell you different, doesn't really matter. To get any kind of consistency in your golf swing, you have to know and understand the basic golf swing, the most fundamental golf swing that all golf swing styles are based on.
The Simple Swing system was designed to not only teach you the correct swing, but to give you a thorough understanding of the golf swing and the correct thought processes that we need in order to achieve a good consistent golf swing. We are all different in physique and the ways in which we think and analyse, so we need a golf swing that suits our own particular shape, size, and ability.
